BITX MW (Middleware) is the major software component of the BITX M2M system. In brief, BITX MW can be defined as a controlled, high performance execution environment for M2M transactions.
No matter what kind of remote devices, their number or the number of transactions, BITX MW can be configured to perform even the most complex remote management and control operations.
Features of the BITX MW middleware
M2M applications are composed of a collection of interconnected devices, where each of them can interact both with the local environment and a central control system or the other devices that are part of the infrastructure.
Given the infinite number of possible M2M applications - which are by definition heterogeneous - it is fundamental to lean on "intermediate softwares" (middlewares) which are positioned halfway between the application (or front-end) and the operating systems and communication protocols that are each time involved. Therefore, the main functions provided by BITX MW are:
Provide a set of standard, high level interfaces to application developers and system integrators, so that their job can be easier and quicker.
Hide the heterogeneity, complexity and distribution of the several hardware components, operating systems and communication protocols every time involved in a M2M application.
Provide a set of "general purpose" services, such as the multichannel layer of BITX MW (Voice, SMS, Fax, e-mail) or modules dedicated to application integration.
